PHOTOGRAPHY FAQ’S
Q. We are purchasing a tree during Nordstrom’s open cutting days/hours. Can we take some snapshots while we are there with our tree to make memories? Yes, you are free to take pictures with your own cameras BUT no photo sessions with a photographer please. For example, this is not the time to make an engagement or maternity photo shoot etc.
Q. What are the session times? That will vary according to your needs. Afternoons are the most popular times. We do not allow bookings when the farm is open for tree cutting (see our website for those dates as they change year to year.) Otherwise, photography is allowed year-round by appointment. Morning sessions end at 1pm and afternoon sessions end at 5pm. However, if you would prefer 8-12 or 2-6, please just add a note in your special instructions in our online booking tool and we're happy to accommodate.
Q. If I book multiple sessions, do I get a discounted rate? Unfortunately, because of popular demand, we are not able to do this. The standard rates apply to each booking.
Q. Do I still need to make a booking and pay if I am not a professional photographer? Yes, we get many requests for photography, and all need to book regardless of who is taking the pictures.
Q. What is included in my fee? Shared access to all our outdoor props and space. Indoor bookings are exclusive, with separate prices and bookings by request.
Q. Can I take promo shoots with my kids or come look the place over? We are happy to allow this for no charge, but please keep your promo shoots to 15-20 mins. These need to be booked with us as well, even if they are free. Please use our same booking button to make a reservation.
Q. Can I book the indoor barn for exclusive photography? Yes. Contact us for more details.
Q. What is your cancellation policy? You may cancel up to a week in advance of your booking. Exceptions are weather cancellations which can be canceled the day of, with our approval. For all other reasons, we must charge for the booking anyway if not canceled a week or more in advance.
Q. If I have to cancel, can I reschedule? Yes, subject to availability.
Q. What forms of payment do you accept, and when/where do I pay? Check or cash is due the day of the photo shoot. Please put check or cash in an envelope with your name on it and deposit in a small antique black mailbox attached to our red house, next to our front door, on our porch. Q. Should I pay when I arrive or when I leave? PLEASE PAY IN FULL UPON ARRIVAL. Instructions will be provided through the online booking process. This is your way to check in that you are here.
Q. Are pets allowed for photo sessions? Yes, dogs are allowed but must stay on a leash, except when being photographed. We do have three cats who wander our property, and usually leave people alone. If you are being photobombed, feel free to shoo them away. They are all very friendly and won’t hurt children.
Q. Can I bring my own props to use for photography? Absolutely! Please remember to decorate the trucks only with things that you can quickly remove to allow for other photographers, such as a blanket or wreath. You can bring a couch or chairs etc. to set up an area for your clients in the trees.
